Single storey rear kitchen extension

Richard is a self build enthusiast and loves nothing more than a new challenge.  Richard wanted to obtain permission for a rear single storey extension to make their tired kitchen into a large living area where they could spend time as a family. Richard had specific ideas he wanted incorporating in the design, one being a large kitchen island which has proved to be a great race circuit for their son. The design was less than 4meters and only required a certificate for permitted development, once this was gained we completed the building regulation drawings. Richard decided he would do most of the build himself which he did by completing the shell without breaking into the house, this kept most of the dust and disruption outside. Richard completed the build himself with only limited help with plumbing and electrical work being done by professionals. Building control signed the build off recently and I have to say that I take my hat off to Richard for managing to complete this himself.
